Refuse to fall down

Refuse to fall down.
If you cannot refuse to fall down,
refuse to stay down.
If you cannot refuse to stay down,
lift your heart toward heaven,
and like a hungry beggar,
ask that it be filled,
and it will be filled.
You may be pushed down.
You may be kept from rising.
But no one can keep you
from lifting your heart
toward heaven–
only you.
It is in the middle of misery
that so much becomes clear.
The one who says nothing good
came of this,
is not yet listening.

~ Clarissa Pinkola Estes

Light and Darkness

Audrey, a friend of ours who owns  The Left Bank Gallery in Wellfleet, Massachusetts, paired Jim Holland’s image  “Twilight Farmhouse”  with Martin Luther King, Jr’s quote to beautfully celebrate the day.

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness;
only light can do that.”
Martin Luther King, Jr.
Jim painting is for sale at The Left Bank Gallery.

Four from Rumi

These beautiful timeless pieces speak for themselves.

Before you speak,
let your words pass through three gates.
At the first gate, ask yourself:
Is it True?
At the second ask:
Is it necessary?
At the third gate ask:
Is it kind?

“Christian, Jew, Muslim, shaman, Zoroastrian, stone, ground, mountain, river,
each has a secret way of being with the mystery,
unique and not to be judged.”

The minute I heard my first love story
I started looking for you, not knowing
how blind I was.

Lovers don’t finally meet somewhere.
They’re in each other all along.

What was in that candle’s light
that opened and consumed me so quickly?

Come back, my friend! The form of our love
is not a created form.
Nothing can help me but that beauty.

There was a dawn I remember
when my soul heard something
from your soul. I drank water
from your spring and felt
the current take me.

Why no images in our blog? We feel the words you share with each other are some of the most important words you will ever share.

The following two quote came to me about a day or so apart, I think they are totally fantastic!

“There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.”
~Albert Einstein

“I am realistic – I expect miracles.”
~Wayne Dyer

A Personal Manifesto

The following is an adoption of words initially attributed to Marianne Williamson and later used by Nelson Mandela for his Inaugural speech. I have chosen to write this in the first person. I feel it make an extremely personal and powerful manifesto.

“My deepest fear is not that I am inadequate. My deepest fear is that I am powerful beyond measure. It is my light, not my darkness that most frightens me. I ask myself, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who am I not to be? I am a child of God. My playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so other people won’t feel insecure around me. I am meant to shine. I was born to make manifest the glory of God that is within me. Glory is not just in some of us; glory is in everyone. And as I let my light shine, I unconsciously give others permission to do the same. As I am liberated from my fear, my freedom liberates others.”

Be a Blessing,
All the Best.
